A few years ago my awesome friend randy and I decided take take on the task of making a giant hostess snowball, what follows is the process and outcome.
After making some chocolate cake batter, we poured most of it in to a round oven safe bowl, and a thin layer in a cake pan the same width as the bowl. We then baked the cakes till they were done.
Once the cakes were cooled, we scooped out the middle of the dome shaped cake, filled it with sweetened whipped cream, then topped it with the thin cake round. Also, to make it more realistic, we cut a small hole in the bottom.
We then turned the cake over on to a cake board and placed it on a wire rack over a sheet pan.
Once we made some soft marshmallow, we poured it over the cake, then coated the marshmallow with coconut tinted pink.
Once the marshmallow had firmed up a bit, we transferred it a flat surface to cool completely.
Then we ate it!
